What we store, and why

Note that the first two aren't cookies at all: they're entries in your browser's local storage, they never leave your device, and they exist purely so the site stops asking you the same question. Clearing your browser data removes them.
What we don't do
We don't set advertising cookies, we don't build behavioural profiles, and we don't share browsing data with brokers. Nothing on this site is personalised — every visitor sees the same comparison in the same order.
How affiliate tracking actually works
This is the part people assume is a cookie on our side, and it isn't. Our outbound commercial links carry a tracking parameter in the address itself. When you follow one, the operator's own site reads that parameter and, if it chooses, sets its own cookie on its own domain. Any storage created at that point belongs to the operator and is covered by their cookie and privacy policies, not ours.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site storage, usually under privacy or site settings, and most offer per-site controls. Blocking storage for this site costs you nothing beyond having the cookie notice appear on each visit, since no content here depends on it.
